How to play

Get eight items in order, low to high. Each player holds their own line.

The line

You start with one revealed card. New cards arrive one at a time with the name showing and the value hidden. Drag the card onto your line — before, between, or after the cards already there. Equal values may sit next to each other. In portrait the eight cards climb a diagonal so they use the full screen; rotate to landscape for a long low-to-high line.

Hits and misses

If the hidden number belongs in that slot, the card stays. If not, it is discarded. Eight correct cards completes the line. In S8LO, finishing in 15 cards is bronze, 10 is silver, and a Perfect 8 (eight cards, no misses) is gold. Medal every set in a topic and the topic takes that medal; same for the whole S8LO mode. Medals stay, even when a later update adds a set or topic.

Daily 8

One puzzle per local day — a unique ranking that is not in Solo. It resets at midnight in your timezone. Today's set is invented for that date. You start with a revealed card, then fill your line against the clock. Score comes from hits, leftover time, and misses. A Perfect 8 is a large bonus. You get one attempt: the first finished score sticks, no replay. The share card never spoils answers. On Sunday the Daily button splits: left is today's Daily 8, right is Double Daily — an extra unique 8 for everyone. That extra score can fill a missed day or replace your worst day in the week total (7 best scores). Double Daily does not restore your streak. After both Sunday games, you get the day card and a week card.

S8LO

Practice any set. No ranking. Drag cards onto the line — no estimate. Best score sits on the tile. Fifteen cards is bronze, ten is silver, a Perfect 8 is gold. Same for a topic, and for S8LO. New topics never take a medal away — you only play what was added.

Hotseat

Two players, one phone. Both estimate the start card — no clock, it waits until both lock. Closest guess opens; a tie is a toss. You have 20 seconds to drag the card onto your line. Timeout on place is a miss. Once per round each player may skip a card they do not know: the opponent places that card first, then the skipper gets a new one. At 4/8 you get a 2×: arm it, then a hit gives you an extra card, a miss gives the opponent two turns. If you fall three cards behind, you get one Steal: take a random card from their line and try to place it on yours. First player with eight correct cards wins the round.

Online

Online 1v1 is coming later. This version is offline.

Flash

Couch 1v1 on one shared line. Sit on the long sides of the phone — cards are quarter-turned so both of you can read. You both get the same hidden card and race to drop it. First correct drop scores a point. A miss hands the same card to your opponent, who may place it without a clock. After eight cards on the line, most points wins. A tie draws one more card for a closest-guess estimate. No opening estimate — you build one line together.

Time Attack

Start with 10 seconds. A hit adds 3. A miss costs 1. Three hits in a row add 3 bonus seconds. Five in a row add 5. Eight in a row add 8. After one minute of play, four random cards leave the line. 250 paints a quarter of the clock red, 500 a half, 1008 blows it. Tap the clock to pause. When time runs out you may watch an ad for +10 seconds, once. You do not stop at 8 — the S-line grows until the clock hits zero.

Store

Gold coins with a red 8 sit top-right. One coin per Daily, Solo or Time Attack. Daily 8 pays 2 when your streak is over 8 days. Sharing a sharecard the first time earns 1 extra coin. Two coins per Hotseat or Flash. Eight coins for a Best of 3. Unlocking a badge earns 8 coins. A new Solo medal or Time Attack rank pays 1 (bronze / ¼), 2 (silver / ½) or 3 (gold / 1008); a higher rank in one run also pays the ranks you skipped. Finish all seven Daily 8s in a week for 8 bonus coins. Complete a Solo or Time Attack category for 8 (bronze / ¼), 18 (silver / ½) or 88 (gold / 1008) coins. Watch an ad in the Store for 1 extra coin. Spend coins on CELEBR8TIONs, boards and AV8TAR items. DASH is included. BOOM costs 20. FLASH, RAINBOW, FOOTBALL, SUPER 8 and FULL HOUSE cost 15. Green and gold boards cost 20, F1 track 40, crumpled paper 75. Cowboy hat 25, mask 25, moustache 10, sunglasses 5, pacifier 50, cape 50, viking helm 50, monocle 100 — stack items on your AV8TAR. Play stays free. You cannot buy a Daily replay, a reveal, or a medal.

Best of 3

First to two rounds wins the match. Pick three different topics — one per round. Ads play after each finished round, with an extra break after the match.
